Verizon: ATM Issues Unrelated to Earlier Phone Problems

It looks like after two days of intermittent problems, cell phone and land line phone service are back to normal in the north country.

Verizon tells us 7 News they completed a second set of repairs Friday evening on the severed fiber optics line blamed for the phone problems. (Click here to read our earlier coverage)

Saturday afternoon, Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence County emergency dispatchers told us that they had not received any further reports of continuing issues.

But, here's one thing we can't explain. 7 News received reports all day on our facebook page about ATMs being down around the area, especially in Canton and potsdam.

Verizon says the ATM outages are unrelated to the phone problems earlier this week.
