Veterans Can Find Answers At Military Appreciation Day

There are nearly 47,000 veterans across the north country. Many of them may not know about services or jobs that are available.

A Military Appreciation Day and Career Day will be held in Potsdam Saturday to help veterans find answers to questions they may have.

A number of organizations will be on hand to discuss everything from health benefits and counseling to legal assistance and job opportunities.

"We're trying to increase veterans' awareness of what opportunities and what services and benefits are available," said organizer William Murphy, a retired colonel.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Clarkson University's Cheel Arena.
