Village Administrator: Still Challenges Ahead For Potsdam

The emergency is over, but that doesn't mean things are back to normal in Potsdam following Tuesday's damaging storm.

In a live telephone interview on 7 News This Morning, Village Administrator Dave Fenton said there are still challenges ahead.

"We still have a lot of chainsaw work to do and we still have some power to get back on, but things went really well last night and we were able to resume normal operations pretty quickly," Fenton said.

Several downtown buildings sustained damage, including three with damage so extensive they had to be condemned.

"Right now, we've got to start putting some numbers to this things and figure out how we're going to get these businesses fixed up and get things back to normal," he said.
