A bomb threat at Watertown High School prompted the evacuation of students and staff Monday afternoon.

The school district said the building was cleared shortly after noon.

The students and staff were moved to the gymnasium at Case Middle School.

Watertown city police and fire officials were called to the scene as was a state police K-9 unit.

Search teams turned up no evidence that there was a bomb in the building.

The school district said it will conduct an investigation using both anecdotal evidence and camera data to identify the person who may be responsible for the threat.

Police said the threat was discovered at 11:45 a.m., but declined to comment on any specifics.
