Walk Increases Awareness Of Mental Illness

Tools

The idea was to increase awareness about mental illness and try to get rid of the stigma associated with it.

In Watertown on Wednesday, the Northern Regional Center For Independent Living (NRCIL) held its 9th Annual Mental Health Awareness Walk.

Participants dodged raindrops to walk from the Dulles State Office Building on Washington Street in Watertown to the Thompson Park pavilion.

The goal of the walk was to recognize people who are living with a mental illness and raise awareness about recovery options.
