Walkers Raise Money For Heart Association
It was a good day for a stroll through the Watertown Fairgrounds Saturday.
About 1,500 people participated in this year’s North Country Heart Walk.
The 19th annual event raised money and awareness in the battle against heart disease and stroke.
The walk is the biggest fundraiser for the American heart Association in the north country.
“Raising money for the Heart Association allows them to do more research and do more advocacy and promote wellness around heart disease and stroke,” said Tom Carman, chairman of this year’s walk.
Walkers helped raise around $215,000.
