Add Judy Gotham to the positive reviews for Samaritan Summit Village.
Judy has lived for the last four years in the nursing home at the former Mercy Hospital in downtown Watertown. She made the move to the new assisted living and nursing facility Sunday, and declared herself delighted.
"Here I am!," she said. "A gorgeous place."
Samaritan Summit Village, off Outer Washington Street in Watertown, opened last week to glowing reviews from residents, families and staff. Operated by Samaritan Medical Center, it's one of the major parts of a countywide effort to improve senior care, and replaces the nursing home beds at Mercy and the Whispering Pines adult facility that Jefferson County owned and Samaritan Medical Center ran.
