For the last couple of years, New York state government has run an "I Love My Park" day in the spring.
The purpose: get volunteers into the state parks to help clean up trash, as the parks prepare for their busy season.
Almost 80 parks participated Saturday, included Wellesley Island state park, where 7 News reporter Candace Dunkley spent part of the day with the Hennessey family.
Said Betsy Hennessey: "It's a gorgeous day. We thought we'd get some exercise. It's a win-win. We thought we'd clean up as we go."
