Watch: Lowville VFW Raises Money For 'Sandy' Victims

Tools

A silent auction and bake sale was held Sunday at the Lowville VFW post to raise money for victims of Hurricane 'Sandy.'

Even before the day's efforts, $1500 had been raised.

The money will go to VFW posts operating in the area where 'Sandy' struck hardest, but everybody benefits.

"They're feeding anybody who comes to the door and needs to be fed," said Frank Northrup, VFW District 4 commander. "It's not just the veterans we're taking care of."

"They have lot everything, and many of them are still without power," said Marianne McLane, from the VFW Auxiliary. "We wanted to help."
