A Town of Alexandria man died after being trapped inside his trailer home during a fire Saturday night.
Firefighters were able to get Robert Cheesman, 72, out of the trailer at 44014 county route 2, and he was taken to River Hospital. However, state police said in a statement Sunday, he "was later pronounced dead at the hospital."
Cheesman was alone in the trailer, police said.

The cause of the fire has not been determined, but is believed to be accidental.
Firefighters battled not only the fire, but bitter cold as well.
"It's extremely cold here so we're having problems with things freezing up, as well as the cold is an awful lot of fatigue on the firefighters," said Jefferson County fire coordinator Joe Plummer.
The fire was reported between 6 and 7 pm.
State Police, the Jefferson County Office of Fire and Emergency Management and the state Office of Fire Prevention and Control are conducting the investigation.
In addition, on scene Saturday night were Alexandria Bay fire and rescue, TIERS, Guilfoyle Ambulance, fire departments from Redwood, Plessis, Clayton, Hammond, Theresa, Evans Mills, Pamelia, LaFargeville and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department.
