Watch: Theresa Ice Fishing Derby Draws Hundreds

The 27th annual ice fishing derby sponsored by the Theresa fire department attracted 300 entries this weekend.

A lot of them were like ice fisherman Don Montondo, who said "I just like to be out here."

Sunday was sunny and reasonably warm, a decent enough day to be on the ice competing for prizes, including a first prize of $1000.

The money raised through the event goes to Theresa's fire department.

We use this money for equipment, to help serve and protect the community," said Timothy Karg, a captain with the department and chairman of the derby.
