Places to Keep Cool In Watertown, Thousand Islands

Watertown city hall and the Thousand Islands Emergency Rescue Service (TIERS) are making plans for the next few days of hot weather.

TIERS will open 'cooling centers' for anyone who has no way to stay comfortable in his or her own home.

In the Thousand Islands area, The Clayton fire department, the Paynter senior center, TIERS offices and Orleans town offices will all be open.

In Watertown, the city council chambers (at city hall on Washington Street) are open 8 am to 4 pm, and Flower Memorial Library is open 8 am to 8 pm Thursday.

Also, city pools are open 11 am to 8 pm.
