Watertown high school students Caleb Whiting and Phillip Armas caught a big break this past week - the rapper/d.j. duo was invited to open for hip-hop star Kendrick Lamar Saturday night at Jefferson Community College in Watertown.

Lamar's album, "good kid, m.A.A.d city," was released last fall and became both a best seller and critical favorite.

"It's cool that we've at least gotten this far," Whiting told 7 News reporter Candace Dunkley.

"They gave me posters, a back stage pass, free tickets to give to people. It's pretty crazy."
