Watertown A 'Pit Stop' For Classic Cars In 'Great Race'

Watertown's Alex Duffy Fairgrounds was a pit stop Wednesday night in the Great Race.

It's a competition that pits drivers of classic cars against each other as they race throughout the Northeast and Canada.

Over 82 classics, including one from 1907, stopped in town and were on display for car lovers.

Organizers say this type of race provides them with a tour of the country most people never get.

"It's a blast," said Brian "Motor Mouth" Goudge. "They get to see America like no other - there's just no other way that's as good as this."

After getting some much-needed rest, drivers were on their way Thursday to the Rochester and Buffalo areas.
