Watertown Man Accused Of Burning Infant

A 22 year old Watertown man is accused of burning an infant in scalding bath water.

State police charged Nathanael Garrison with second-degree reckless assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred on January 22, 2013 in the town of Wilna.

Police said a 2 month old infant was subjected to scalding bath water. 

According to police, the baby suffered second-degree burns to approximately 45 percent of the body.

The child was treated by the Golisano Children's Hospital at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.

Police said the infant was later released and has recovered from the injuries.

Garrison was arraigned in Carthage Village Court and was ordered held in the Jefferson County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.

State police were assisted in the investigation by Fort Drum CID.

Police said Garrison is a soldier stationed at Fort Drum.
