Police have released the names of the two men involved in a stabbing in Watertown Wednesday.

Police say when they arrived at the corner of Franklin Street and Flower Avenue East shortly before 5 p.m., they found the victim, 45 year old Michael Campaney of Academy Street, with a stab wound to his torso.

(Note: Our earlier reports incorrectly said that it happened at Flower Avenue West.)

Police say the suspect, Frank Cooley Jr., was still at the scene and was later charged with second degree assault.

Investigators say they discovered Campaney and Cooley knew each other and got into an argument that became physical.

Cooley allegedly stabbed Campaney with a knife.

Campaney was sent to Upstate Medical University in Syracuse for treatment. Police say he is listed in stable condition.

Cooley was arraigned Thursday morning in Watertown city court. He was sent to Jefferson County jail on $10,000 bail.
