Watertown's Blockbuster No Longer Renting Videos

Tools

It's the end of an era in video entertainment. As of Monday, Blockbuster in Watertown will no longer rent DVDs or video games.

Earlier -- on air and on the web -- we reported the store was closing. We were in error. It will remain open until April so it can sell off its inventory.

The store has been at its Arsenal Street location for nearly two decades.

Dish Network Corporation owns Blockbuster and says the plan is to close 300 stores across the country this year.

Last year, the company closed 500 under-performing locations.

A total of 3,000 employees will be laid off.
