Wednesday: A Final Gift From Edwards Seniors

The Edwards Senior Citizens Club has disbanded, but not before leaving a final gift to the community.

The club called it quits a few months ago - there were fewer and fewer members - but had about $1,200 left over.

The money was divided equally among the Edwards food pantry, the library, the fire department and the rescue squad. Checks for exactly $311 were given to each organization in a ceremony at the Edwards fire station Tuesday night.

The checks were handed out by the club's former president, Bob Miller. St. Lawrence County legislator Alex McKinnon (R-4th District) told Miller "You've been a great leader and a good friend to many people."
