The woman allegedly responsible for the longhorn cattle that were terrorizing a Macomb woman was charged with letting the animals roam.

St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies say 41 year old Tammy Hays of Gouverneur allegedly let several longhorn cattle roam without trying to catch them.

We reported in early August about 78 year old Lane Turnbull, who was afraid to leave her house because of the roaming longhorns.

Turnbull says the cattle have been roaming since early July and have ruined her summer. (See our follow-up story.)

Hays was charged with unlawfully allowing a breeding animal to roam, a misdemeanor.

She was issued a ticket to appear in Macomb town court at a later date.
