An Elmira woman is accused of trying to smuggle OxyContin, morphine and synthetic marijuana into the Gouverneur Correctional Facility - all in the presence of her six year old daughter.

State police arrested 26 year old Darcelle Tomlin on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance, promoting prison contraband and endangering the welfare of a child.

Investigators said the drugs were contained in 50 latex fingertips, which Tomlin hid in her groin area.

According to police, the containers held 67 grams of synthetic marijuana as well as OxyContin and morphine pills.

Police said Tomlin and her daughter were at the prison to visit an inmate Sunday when the drugs were discovered.

St. Lawrence County Child Protective Services took the girl into custody and placed her with a local foster family.

Tomlin was ordered held in the county jail in lieu of $20,000 bail.
