A Norfolk woman is accused of receiving over $9,000 in welfare benefits she wasn't entitled to.

St. Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies say 52 year old Anne Louissaint allegedly gave false information to the Department of Social Services that resulted in her receiving $9,170 in food stamps and medicaid benefits from April 2010 to September 2011.

She was charged with third degree welfare fraud and two counts of offering a false instrument for filing.

Louissaint was arraigned in Norfolk town court and committed to jail on $10,000 bail.
