Woman Charged With Assault After Kicking Deputy

An Alexandria Bay woman was charged after she allegedly injured a St. Lawrence County sheriff deputy during a domestic dispute in the town of Russell.

Deputies say they were assisting state police during the arrest of 24 year old Sarah Dunn at a home on the Pyrites-Russell Road when Dunn allegedly became combative and kicked the deputy.

The deputy was taken to Canton-Potsdam Hospital for treatment and then released.

Dunn was charged with a felony count of second degree assault. She was arraigned and committed to county jail on $1,000 cash bail.
