Woman Charged With Trying To Smuggle Drugs To Jail Inmate

A Chase Mills woman was charged with attempting to smuggle drugs into the St. Lawrence County jail.

Sheriff deputies say 41 year old Angela Swinyer allegedly tried to sneak a narcotic drug into the jail and pass it to an inmate during a visit.

Swinyer was charged with first degree promoting prison contraband and third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, both felonies.

She was arraigned in Canton village court and released to the supervision of the probation department.
