Woman Claims Massena Police Assaulted Her

MGN Online

Massena Police Chief Timmy Currier says he expects to release the findings of an internal probe into a woman's claim she was physically and sexually assaulted by officers who charged her with drunk driving and marijuana possession.

Preliminary findings indicate there is no basis to allegations made by 27 year old Heather Kirby of Potsdam, officials said.

Police said they found Kirby slumped over the steering wheel of her 1999 Pontiac Sunfire in the Harte Haven Shopping Plaza shortly after 1 a.m. last Friday.

The woman refused to take a breathalyzer test and was charged with driving while intoxicated, unlawful possession of marijuana consuming alcohol in a vehicle and obstructing governmental administration.

Kirby is free on probation supervision.
