Woman Exaggerated Amount Of Money Stolen, Police Say

A Gouverneur woman was arrested after she allegedly exaggerated the amount of money that was stolen from her.

St. Lawrence County sheriff deputies say 27 year old Bridget Silva allegedly gave a statement on December 21 in which she intentionally told police she had more money stolen from her than was actually taken.

Police say she was attempting to get more money reimbursed than she lost.

Silva was ticketed for giving a false written statement and was released to appear in court at a later date.
