Police Identify Woman Critically Injured In Crash

A 52-year-old Chase Mills woman was in serioue condition Thursday morning following an accident in St. Lawrence County Wednesday morning.

State police said Norberta Russo was hurt in a one-car accident on state Route 310 at the intersection of River Road in the town of Norfolk.

Police said she lost control of her car, which sheered off a utility pole before coming to rest in a ditch.

Russo was trapped in her car and had to be freed from the wreckage by emergency crews using the jaws of life tool.

She was taken to Fletcher Allen Medical Center in Burlington, Vermont, where she was initially listed in critical condition.
