A Lowville woman allegedly had to be pepper-sprayed while she was being processed by Jefferson County sheriff's deputies following a fight with her sister in Dexter early Sunday morning.

Deputies say 36 year old Crystal Martin allegedly had both her hands around her sister's neck, making it difficult to breathe. She also allegedly dug her fingernails into her sister's face.

Deputies say she became "uncooperative" while they were booking her and had to be subdued.

Also during processing, deputies say they found a small bag of marijuana in her purse.

Martin was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing, third degree assault, unlawful possession of marijuana and promoting prison contraband.

She was arraigned in Glen Park village court and sent to jail on $500 bail.
