A 31 year old Massachusetts woman who picked up an illegal alien at the Akwesasne Mohawk Indian Reservation was sentenced in federal court Tuesday.

Trudian Simmonds was sentenced to two years of supervised release.

On August 9, 2012, Simmonds entered the United States from Canada at the Massena Port of Entry.

She then drove to a parking lot on the Akwesasne Mohawk Indian Reservation where she picked up a Jamaican citizen who had illegally entered the U.S. from Canada earlier that day.

Simmonds was transporting the man away from the border area when she was stopped and arrested by Border Patrol agents.

Simmonds was found guilty on May 22, 2013 following a three-day jury trial.
