WorkPlace Offers 'Career Jam' For 9th-Graders

The WorkPlace in Watertown is having a first-time event next month that will give high school freshmen a head start on choosing a career.

The WorkPlace is sponsoring the Jefferson-Lewis Career Jam. Cheryl Mayforth said on 7 News This Morning it's a way to expose kids to the different occupations and careers available.

It's September 17 at the Watertown Fairgrounds Arena and will feature area businesses showing what they do.

There's already close to 80 vendors signed up, but Mayforth says more are welcome.

The event will be for ninth graders and will last all day during school hours. Vendors can set up the day before.

"We're asking employers to bring their show and tell," Mayforth said.
