It's sticker shock for electricity users. Bills this winter that were already high, have now gone from bad to worse:


My January 2014 electric usage was 40kwh less than my 2013 usage, but my bill was $49 more. I guess this is a sign of what's to come - use less, less, less, pay more, more, more.

Police officers in St. Lawrence County will find themselves not only writing tickets for speeding and other traffic violations, but also prosecuting them in local courts. It's a way to free up staff in the District Attorney's Office:


This is a terrible idea promoted by the D.A. and believe they should do the job they were elected to do instead of palming it off.

This actually is better for the defendant because he isn't facing a trained attorney.  You still get a trial in front of an impartial judge.
