Mary Jo Guyette would face probation but not see any jail time for allegedly stealing more than $117,000 from Potsdam Court coffers under the terms of a plea bargain worked out with prosecutors. Guyette had been a court clerk when she allegedly stole from fines and other court funds and altered records in an attempt to conceal the thefts:
A thief is a thief and thieves belong in jail.
What the heck is wrong with people! This makes me sick.
I hope they work it out. It is a landmark for Watertown.
