Your Turn: Your Feedback On Hospital, Firewood & Sonic

Approximately 70 employees at Carthage Area Hospital were laid off last week under a restructuring plan.  CAH also losing 20 patient beds:

My heart goes out to all of those people that work at CAH.

Brandy Noyes

Is this another benefit of Obamacare?

Thomas Black

I personally would like to see the suits take a pay cut for a change, not the caregivers and the patients that depend on them.

Lydia Dittrich

Worst part for the employees is the hospital thought it was more important to release this to the media before letting any of them know.

Glenn Sampson

What is even bigger news and is kind of being how our hospital is reducing its inpatient beds to ONLY 10, which is smaller than any other local hospital and effectively giving the impression of an outpatient facility.

Chris Lorence

A growing number of people are using firewood as a primary heating source.  But with demand up, logs are hard to come by this winter and that's driving up costs at the coldest time of the year:

This does not surprise me as I have used as much firewood this year as I did all of last year.

John Lennox

Supply for us isn't down. It's just that everyone is looking for dry wood cause they're running out and cold temps and weather have slowed delivery down.

Phil's Firewood

Sonic Drive-In might locate a restaurant in Watertown.  Most of your feedback this week was about that and most of you are excited:

Being from down south where they have Sonic everywhere, I have missed it so much. Thank you, Sonic, for considering us.

Nancy George

Watertown does not need another fast food place to fatten ourselves up.
