A group called "Operation Veterans" is eyeing St. Lawrence County for a veterans hospital. They're looking specifically at two buildings in Ogdensburg:

The long trip to the Syracuse VA is hard on the older veterans. Something has to be done to help this group.

The head of the St. Lawrence County Legislature is trying again to raise the sales tax. Without the extra money, the county says there could be hefty property tax increases or big cuts in services in next year's budget:

 

A sales tax increase is more fair than a higher property tax.

'Rails to Trails' has hit a dead end in Lewis County after lawmakers officially gave up on buying two dormant rail lines for a new recreational trail:

 

I am waiting for them to stop the Lewis County Fair next.  They don't seem to want anything here to bring money to this county.
