Feedback: Youth Intended To Target Police, Authorities Say
The 16 year old Lowville Academy student who was allegedly planning a gun incident intended to target police.
"He had intentions of causing harm to police as they arrived," said Fredenburg.
"He never made any mention of causing harm to Walmart or anyone in Walmart or to the school or anyone in the school. It was simply a location that he indicated," he said.
A student at the school overheard the plot.
"He made comments to another student regarding plans he had for the future that included guns," district Superintendent Cheryl Steckly said last Friday.
Officials said the student then informed the assistant principal.
Police were called immediately and the investigation began.
The police investigation continues and includes close communication with the school district and the district attorney's office.
