Sources told 7 News that the Academy at Ivy Ridge in Ogdensburg is closing.  However, the director of the school for troubled teens denied it and told another media outlet that the academy is reorganizing to reopen in the fall.

Here's a sampling of your emails:

"I was in that place for 34 months, 2 weeks and 2 days and it was one of the worst places in the world. I hope all of this is true and this place closes forever!!! I would have rather been in prison than there!!"

Shawneen Lobb

"I attended Ivy Ridge as a teen and the news of its closure is reason to celebrate. This place specialized in degrading teens for a hefty price tag. I can assure you there haven't been close to enough investigations into AIR. Close the doors for good and plow away all the horrific memories."

The Department of Environmental Conservation says a manure spill at WoodCrest Dairy Farm in the town of Lisbon has reached the St. Lawrence River.  Meanwhile, the co-owner of the 5,000-herd dairy farm denies any manure leeched into the river.

Here's what some of you wrote:

"I wonder if this would have happened in the olden days of 50 dairy cow herds, and back in the day when the NY State DEC actually protected our plentiful fish and wildlife."

Barbara King

"Time to tighten up the rules and nail these farms acting in disregard with huge fines. Make it substantial so these people stop and think before they proceed negligently with these actions."

Mark Fleury

Scott Koen, a north country native, is being hailed as a hero for helping to rescue passengers from the plane that landed in the Hudson River last month.

This is what one of you had to say:

"It was a wonderful thing Mr. Koen has done. It's too bad there aren't more people out there to give their help when needed."
