A fraternity banned last April by SUNY Potsdam was the scene of a party where five students were apparently drugged.
Here's a sampling of your emails:
"In my 4 years at college, I never saw a single person "better" themselves by becoming a Greek. The fact that this Potsdam fraternity disrespected the school by throwing a party after they were banned and furthermore drugging people does not surprise me in the least."
Ashley E. Hulse
Former Sorority Member
"My son is a member of this fraternity and I say this with pride. The situation has been blown out of proportion and the public should consider this before making judgment."
Heidi B. Pero
Three elderly Ogdensburg residents being sued by the state attorney general. He's trying to collect for the clean-up of contaminated land, but the trio apparently had nothing to do with causing the contamination.
Here are some of your messages:
"It makes NO sense to punish or fine innocent people and not even to attempt to go after the people responsible.
Fred Rycroft
"Picking on old people - New York, you should be ashamed of yourself."
Julieann A. Miller
"If their purchase agreement also made them responsible for any subsequent cleanup, then it's time to pay the piper. This should not be the responsibility of taxpayers."
Karen L. Cunningham
Police say a stop sign was missing from the intersection where Deborah Carpenter died in a collision with an oncoming van. The sign may have been knocked over in an accident that wasn't reported.
These are just a few of the many emails we received:
"30 years ago, at that same intersection, my sister was killed in a car accident. At that time, it was also hard to see the stop sign because it was hidden by a tree."
Karen Derouin
"An innocent woman lost her life just because a stop sign was missing. I can't believe regular travelers of that area didn't notice it missing and report it."
Shirley F. Wright
"To Debbie's family, thoughts and prayers for all of you."
Mary J. Simard
