The 'person of interest' in last week's fatal shooting outside of  Watertown is out on bail. Jerry Metheney was wanted for questioning in the death of Shawn Jones, who's described variously as his brother or half-brother. The case is headed to a grand jury.

Due to budget woes, there's a proposal to close the ice rink inside the Richard A. Lockwood arena in Ogdensburg.

Do not close the Lockwood ice center. Get creative and run more programs within it to offset the expenses.

I know that many great ideas have been put before city council about how to increase revenue for the arena, such as adding a concession stand, that have been turned down. If the Lockwood is closed there are just too many ice activities in the winter for the Dome to have time for everybody.
