Your Turn: Your Feedback On Double Murder, Gay Marriage & Student Protest

Tools

Two Fort Drum soldiers were stabbed to death last week in their town of LeRay apartment. A fellow soldier is charged with their murder.

Here's a couple of emails:

Waide James was my neighbor a couple of years ago. He was a very nice man. I don't know why anyone would hurt him.

Jenni Getman

This is just another incident proving that more help is needed for our soldiers.

Sherry Shattuck

Most of our emails this week are about the state Senate's vote on legalizing gay marriage. The measure was rejected.

Here's a sampling of the messages you sent:

Fair minded people can see that Marriage Equality is not a religious issue, it is an issue of civil rights.

Joanne Nugent

I would like to applaud the Senate for finally doing what the constituents would want on this matter.  I would hope this will end this deviant lifestyle, and I hope that it is never passed.

Ronald Schofell

I like to think that New York sets the standards for most of the country. But I have to say that I am disappointed that some New Yorkers can't see the importance of love between two people, regardless of their sex.

Karen McGuire

I am very pleased that the gay marriage bill was defeated. You have proved to me that New York is not a moral cesspool.

Mary Howland

SUNY Potsdam students protested state budget cuts and recent tuition increases in the SUNY system.

This is what some of you had to say:

I personally do not think education should ever be cut. Our children are our future.

Linda LaRue

It's time today's young people faced responsibility and do what ever they have to do if they want an education, and quit crying because they can't get someone else to pay for it!

Joseph DeFranco

You can't have it both ways. The state is in trouble and spending needs to be cut.
