Your Turn: Your Feedback on School Budgets and Sav-A-Lot

Tools

Your feedback this week is about the budget proposals in the Carthage and Watertown school districts and the possibility of a Sav-A-Lot store coming to Ogdensburg.

We received dozens of angry emails about the decisions made by the Watertown school board.

Members approved a budget that cuts 19 jobs.

They also approved a measure that gives administrators a raise.

Here's what some of you had to say:

"Shame on the Board of Education"

Richard Boyanski

"Watertown taxpayers should be furious"

Susan O'Neill

The owner of the Sav-A-Lot grocery chain says he's interested in setting up shop in the former Ogdensburg P&C building.

Here are some of your comments:

"I would love to see a Sav-A-Lot open for the sake of the P&C workers and for Ogdensburg grocery shoppers."

Maureen Kravec

"Ogdensburg does NOT need another discount food store."

James Dettmer

The Carthage Central school district's budget cuts jobs, but includes no tax levy increase.

Here's one of your comments:

"Holding the line on a tax increase is a good thing in an economy like the present one."

James Newell
