A Jefferson County man has been cleared of any wrongdoing for the fatal shooting of a Clayton man in April. A grand jury refused to indict Jesse Bartlett in the death of Keith Brabant:

 

I'm sorry for Keith's family and friends and their loss.  However, if Keith hadn't criminally trespassed, breaking and entering, and caused property damage at my house that morning...and then assaulted me...this never would have happened.

I fully agree with the right to protect yourself with a firearm in your own home.  However the comments made by the shooter disturb me.

The town of Alexandria is considering buying ice bumper cars to fill dead times at the municipal ice arena this winter:

It's about time we started thinking outside the box and try new ideas to bring in outside revenue.

In these tough times, the town should not be spending taxpayer money on a "MAYBE" such as this.  How about selling advertising space on the cars  to offset the cost or have local groups raise money?
