It's called a flipped classroom. The teacher records the lesson, puts it on YouTube and the students watch it as homework. Then in class, the students work on the assignment and and the teacher helps:
It is really refreshing to hear something positive about our education system and how it is working.
What about poor students in rural areas without internet at home to watch the videos?
I teach Science and I'd hate to lose the ability to have students ask questions as they're learning. With this model, Google is their only source and I shudder to think what answers they might get.
