Your Turn: Your Feedback On Jail, CSX & Job Seeker

The Jefferson County Jail is having problems with overcrowding, while many state prisons have extra space.  County lawmakers say there's a new willingness on the state's part to consider housing county inmates in state correctional facilities:

Sounds like a good idea to me.

Dena Marie Engelking

Laws pertaining to housing county inmates are different to laws housing state inmates. There are many things to take into consideration, not just a bed.

Thomas LeConey

Maybe we just need to stop putting so many people in prison.

Last week we told you about a local woman who says she's desperate for a job so she can make ends meet and get medical care for her service dog.  She's spreading the word by carrying a sign and talking with passersby:

I hope she can land a job. It's sad to think we are heading for 2014 and so many people have no job.

Maria Schatz

Praying for her to find a job and hope her dog can get some help too.

CSX announced it will be raising train speed limits through communities from 25 to 40 miles per hour starting in November. At least one Watertown city council member says that could be dangerous:

Leave CSX alone.   They have a good safety record.

William Andrus

I really don't think our city streets with the railroad crossings are really safe for speed that high. They are setting themselves up for an accident to happen.
