NORFOLK– There will be no calling hours or funeral services for 87 year old Vila F. Hall, Sr., of 1032 State Highway 11, Moira. A private burial will be held in the Santa Clara cemetery. Mr. Hall passed away early Monday morning at the home of his daughter Virginia Trahan. Arrangements are with the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk.

Mr. Hall is survived by his sons Michael and Rosemary Hall, Cambridge, NY; Vila and Tran Hall Jr., New Millford, Kansas; Randy and Jill Hall, Red Hook, NY; Jon Hall and his companion Nancy Kauffman, Moria; and his daughters Mrs. Dominick Patricia Maiorano, Webster, NY; Mrs. Richard Virginia Trahan, Norfolk; Mrs. Steven Lynda Mitchell Sr, Alburgh, VT; and Charlene Hall Kauffman, North Carolina. Mr. Hall is also survived by 29 grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren, his brother Kenneth Hall, of New York City and formerly of Sandfordville and a son-in-law Bruce Gratton of Constable, NY. He was pre-deceased by his wife in 2004, a daughter Barbra Gratton and a brother Gordon Jr.

Born in Norfolk on July 22, 1921 to the late Gordon and Doris Johnson Hall Sr, he married Wilma Smith on March 29, 1942. He worked for Local 910, the electricians union. He was a member of the Moira American Legion and was an avid bowler and golfer. He enjoyed sports. He served in WWII during the Battle of the Bulge were he received a Purple Heart.
