Nancy L. Johnson, 61, of 600 S. Washington St. Apt. 2, died Tuesday morning, June 30, 2009, at her residence where she was under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County.

Mrs. Johnson was born in West Carthage on August 8, 1947, the daughter of Donald J. and the late Rosemary Dionne Fox. She was a 1965 graduate of Carthage Central High School. She married Carl E. Johnson on June 11, 1966 at the First Baptist Church in Carthage.

She worked in the converting department at Crown Zellerbach Corp. for 6 years, Caregivers for 3 years and finally for H & R Block for 22 years.

Mrs. Johnson was a trustee of the First Baptist Church, Carthage. 

She leaves her husband, Carl E. of Carthage, two sons: Carl E. Johnson III of Watertown and Jason C. and his wife Misalea Johnson of Theresa, 6 Grandchildren, her father: Donald J. Fox of Carthage, a sister: Pamela Clodfelter of Dayton, OH, three brothers: Frederick Fox of Marshall, MN, Steven Fox of Carthage and Randy Fox of Hutchinson, MN and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church, 511 State St. with the Rev. Robert Barone, Pastor officiating. 

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Carthage.  Calling hours at the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home will be on Thursday from 4-7pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Hospice Foundation of Jefferson County, 425 Washington St., Watertown or to the First Baptist Church, Carthage.
