Mr. Duane J. Getman age 46 of Las Vegas Nevada formerly of LaFargeville died Friday evening in a one-car accident on the Middle Road in the Town of Orleans along with his father Joel P. Getman. There will be no calling hours or Funeral. A private joint graveside service will be held at Brookside Cemetery in Watertown at the family’s convenience.

Duane was born March 17th 1963 in Watertown the son of Joel and Deanna Reinbeck Getman. He graduated from LaFargeville Central School in 1981. He served for 4 years in the United States Army and was honorably discharged March 21st 1988.

He lived in Las Vegas for over 20 years and at the time of his death was a bartender at the Mirage Casino where he was employed for over 15 years. He enjoyed hunting, watching movies and was a collector of baseball cards.

Surviving besides his mother are a sister and her husband Tracey and David Brown of Hamburg NY, and a brother and his wife Jerry and Julie Scott of Carthage, nieces and nephews and an aunt and uncle.

Donations can be made in his name to T.I.E.R.S. or the LaFargeville Volunteer Fire Department.
