A graveside service for Anna R. Wagler will be held  Thursday October 29 at 9:30 AM at the Croghan Mennonite Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 10:30 AM at the Lowville Mennonite Church with the Rev.’ s Elmer Lehman, Evan Zehr, Milton Zehr and Terry Zehr officiating. Calling hours will be Wednesday October 28, 2-4 and 6-8 at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Faithful Workers Sewing Circle PO Box 167 Lowville, NY or Friends of Lewis County Hospice PO Box 266 Lowville, NY 13367.

Anna was born in the Town of Croghan, September 13, 1908 to Andrew and Anna Widrick Roggie. She attended  Town of Croghan Country School District 8 at Nick Henry Hill. She married Jacob S. Wagler June 14, 1932 at the Amish-Mennonite Church of Croghan.  Mr. Wagler died May 8, 1987. She was a homemaker and helped in the operation of the family farm.

She was a member of Faithful Workers Sewing Circle, was active in the former Mennonite Group Fellowship and taught Sunday School and Bible School. She and Jacob served as caretakers at Beaver Camp for three summers and served as a caretakers at Rosedale Bible College for one winter. She enjoyed hand quilting quilts, crocheting, knitting, gardening, playing games, cooking , entertaining and spending time with her family.

She is survived by a son and his wife Edward and Rosemary, Lowville; three daughters and their husbands, Lois and Carl Zehr, Carol and Kenneth Erb, of Lowville; and Mary Ellen and Mervin Good, London, Ontario, Canada. She has 16 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 6 great- great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is predeceased by a son Glenn Andrew in 1954 and a grandson Brian Zehr in 1984.
