Thursday Sports: Lyme, Watertown, Lafargeville Win

Lyme benefited from two corner kicks Thursday to beat Copenhagen, and earn a tie with Copenhagen for the regular season Class 'D' title. Brittany Sharlow took a header off the first corner kick to score (seen here), followed by Misty Putnam. Also Thursday, Watertown edged Carthage 2-1 in boys' soccer. Matt Cleaver scored first for the Cyclones on a penalty kick. And in Sackets Harbor, Lafargeville beat the Lady Patriots 3-1, with Lafargeville's goal keeper, Tamara Ives, deflecting a number of Sackets shots.
