IHC fought back from an early Weedsport lead Friday night, only to lose on a disputed pass interference call late in the fourth quarter. Weedsport ultimately won, 20-14, to advance to the class D finals. The pass interference was against Weedsport and would have set up IHC to score, but the call was waved off. "That's an absolutely horrible call," said IHC coach Paul Alteri. The scoring started with Weedsport's Justin Rose catching a 15 yard touchdown pass in the second quarter. Rose turned around and blocked an IHC punt a few minutes later, running it 20 yards for another touchdown. Then Brian Quigley scored for Weedsport, making it 20-0. But just before half time, IHC quarterback Tom Burgess scored. Burgess did it again in the third quarter, bringing IHC within striking distance. *** General Brown beat Bishop Ludden 28-21 to advance to the Class C title game. General Brown's defense picked off a Bishop Ludden pass early on to end a drive, and GB standout Jared Flath scored the first of his touchdowns on a three yard run in the second quarter. *** OFA beat Gouverneur 21-6 in Section 10/7 Class C semi-final play. OFA's Jared Morrow put the Blue Devils on the scoreboard with a 49 yard pass to Gene Bouyer. Gouverneur's lone score came when quarterback Darren Fuller scored from 12 yards out. *** Copenhagen beat Belleville Henderson 2-1 in Section 3 Class D quarterfinal boys' soccer play Friday, despite the goal keeping of Belleville's Jake Fleury, who came up with several big saves. David Hovendon scored first for Copenhagen. *** Watertown shut out Oneida in Class A quarterfinal boys' play. Chris Waterbury, Brendan Arthur and Matt Cleaver contributed Watertown's goals. *** In girls' Class B soccer play, IHC beat Skaneateles 3-1. Briana Guarino scored the first of IHC's goals on a pass from Erin McClusky.
