JCC's Outstanding Athlete: Jacob Backus

Freshman Midfielder Jacob W. Backus  of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) men’s soccer team was named JCC athlete of the week for the week ending November 1, 2009. 

Backus, a 2008 graduate of Lyme Central School, is majoring in Business Administration at Jefferson. 

Backus’s accomplishments on the field this season include leading the team in goals and assists for the 2009 season and JCC's first NJCAA Division-III Regional III appearance in 8 years.

His consistent play helped propel the program to another level.
