Section 3 basketball playoffs get underway this weekend and one Frontier League girls' team is looking for big things in postseason play.

The Carthage lady Comets are on a roll, finishing the regular season with a 12-6 overall record, 9-3 in the league.

In local action, Jefferson Community College hosted Clinton Community College in men's and women's basketball and in pro hockey, the Thousand Islands Privateers defeated visiting Dayton.
